Flow Motion Fit FAQs

  • Welcome!

Here are answers to the questions I get most often about Flow Motion Fit classes.

  • Where are you located?

I have a small home studio in Milton, Florida. I’m located near Walmart Neighborhood Market, on Old Bagdad. To maintain privacy, the exact address will be sent in a confirmation email after booking.

  • How much are your classes?

Group pole classes are $25 (Intro, Pole 1, and Pole 1.5) or $35 for advanced (Pole 2). Packages are available if you'd like to save!

Aerial is offered as private instruction only at $70/hour, which can be split between two people.

  • Are your classes suitable for beginners, and do I need any prior strength or flexibility to join?

Beginners are always welcome. No prior strength or flexibility is required. Both improve naturally as you train. Classes are designed with modifications and options so that you can progress safely at your own pace.

  • What can I expect in my first class?

Classes start with a general warm-up, then move into apparatus work. You’ll practice poses, tricks, and techniques, and finish with a gentle stretch. Every class is planned specifically for the individuals booked.

  • Is there a weight limit for pole or aerial?

While I would love to accommodate everyone, the equipment I use is rated for a weight limit of 300 pounds. If you’re over that, I’d be happy to refer you to a local studio that has equipment rated for higher limits.

  • Will these classes help me lose weight and get more flexible?

Practicing pole and aerial consistently will definitely build strength, coordination, and flexibility. How much you see results, such as weight loss or muscle gain, also depends on your lifestyle, including your diet and activities outside of class.

Personal training sessions are available to help you create a plan that supports your goals safely and effectively.

  • I want to take classes, but you don't offer a time that works for me. What are my options?

The group class schedule is updated monthly based on current student bookings. If you’d like a specific class or time added, contact me with your request. While it’s not guaranteed, purchasing a class package or bringing a friend increases the chances it will be added as a regular group class time slot.

Alternatively, private sessions may be booked at $70/hour and can be shared with a friend as a semi-private session at no extra cost.

Package options are available for both group and private sessions.

  • What should I wear to aerial and pole classes?

For Intro pole, you may wear regular workout clothes, but as you progress, you typically need to wear less clothing as skin contact is needed for higher level tricks.

For aerial, wear fitted clothing that covers the backs of your knees and armpits, such as leggings and a fitted top. This helps protect your skin as you get used to the movements. Crop tops are NOT recommended.

    Additional Tips:

Avoid lotion and deodorant on the day of class, as it can make gripping difficult.

Do NOT wear jewelry, as it poses a safety hazard and can damage equipment.

  • Are pole and aerial safe?

Pole and aerial arts carry real risks, including serious injury or, in rare cases, death. However, your safety is always my top priority, and here’s how I make it a focus in every class:

Class design: I plan each class based on the students enrolled, their experience, and their skill level.

Class Size: Classes are kept small so every student gets the individual attention and safety oversight they deserve.

Spotting: I stay nearby during inverted tricks or new skills and only introduce moves when you’re ready.

Pole Specific: My poles are ceiling-mounted and checked before every class. Controlled movements are emphasized at all levels, and mats are available for extra protection.

Aerial Specific: I use a professional circus rig with a 36-inch gymnastics mat, and all moves stay low for beginners. Classes are only available as private or semi-private.

Even with precautions, injuries can happen, so please keep this in mind when booking.

  • Will I have to share a pole or aerial apparatus?

You'll never share an apparatus with more than one other person. With two poles, classes are capped at four students, and aerial is available as private or semi-private only.

And trust me, you won’t mind an excuse for a little rest. 😉

  • Do you offer childcare?

The studio is not child-proofed and childcare is not available, but I want aerial and pole to be accessible to everyone, including busy moms! Reach out and we can chat about options.

  • "But I'm too [old, fat, weak, stiff, uncoordinated, etc.] to do aerial/pole/yoga!

I’ve heard all the above excuses, and none of them are valid. It’s not easy being new at something, especially as an adult, but I promise you can do it! The cool thing about the aerial and pole community is that most of us started as adults! You may feel awkward at first, but stick with it, show up consistently, and allow yourself to be new and bad at something again. You will get stronger, more confident, and more capable over time.
