Flow Motion Fit FAQs

  • Welcome!

Here are answers to the questions I get most often about Flow Motion Fit classes. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, this guide will help you know what to expect, stay safe, and get the most out of your class.

  • Where are you located?

I have a small home studio in Milton, Florida. I’m located near Walmart Neighborhood Market, on Old Bagdad. To maintain privacy, the exact address will be sent in a confirmation email after booking.

  • How much are your group classes?

Classes are priced by level, reflecting the knowledge and planning required by the instructor. Pricing is as follows:

    Intro and Virtual Classes: $15

    Level 1: $20

    Level 1.5 & All-Level: $25

    Advanced: $30

You may book lower-level classes even if you are more advanced; however, only movements appropriate for that level will be taught.

  • Are your classes suitable for beginners, and do I need any prior strength or flexibility to join?

Absolutely! Beginners are always welcome. No prior strength or flexibility is required. Both improve naturally as you train. Classes are designed with modifications to suit every student, so you can progress safely at your own pace.

  • What can I expect in my first class?

Classes start with a general warm-up, then move into apparatus work. You’ll practice poses, tricks, and techniques, and finish with a gentle stretch. Every class is thoughtfully planned for the students booked that day.

  • Is there a weight limit for pole or aerial?

While I would love to accommodate everyone, the equipment I use is rated for a weight limit of 300 pounds. If you’re over that, I’d be happy to refer you to a local studio that has equipment rated for higher limits.

  • Will these classes help me lose weight and get more flexible?

Practicing pole and aerial consistently will definitely build strength, coordination, and flexibility. How much you see results, such as weight loss or muscle gain, also depends on your lifestyle, including your diet and activities outside of class.

Personal training sessions are available to help you create a plan that supports your goals safely and effectively.

  • I want to take classes, but you don't offer a time that works for me. What are my options?

The schedule is updated every Sunday evening based on current student bookings. If you’d like a specific class or time added, contact me with your request. While it’s not guaranteed, purchasing a class package or bringing a friend increases the chances it will be added.

Private lessons are also available starting at $50/hour.

  • What should I wear to aerial and pole classes?

For aerial, wear fitted clothing that covers the backs of your knees and armpits, such as leggings and a fitted top. This helps protect your skin as you get used to the movements. Crop tops are NOT recommended.

Pole is typically the opposite! Shorts and a sports bra or tank top are recommended to allow skin contact with the pole, which provides grip. However, wear whatever makes you feel confident.

    Additional Tips:

Avoid lotion and deodorant on the day of class, as it can make gripping difficult.

Do NOT wear jewelry, as it poses a safety hazard and can damage equipment.

  • Are pole and aerial safe?

Pole and aerial arts carry real risks, including serious injury or, in rare cases, death. However, your safety is always my top priority, and here’s how I make it a focus in every class:

Class design: I plan each class based on the students enrolled, their experience, and their skill level.

Spotting: I stay nearby during inverted tricks or new skills and only introduce moves when you’re ready.

Aerial equipment: I use a professional circus rig with a 36-inch gymnastics mat and all moves stay low for beginners. Height and drops are only introduced at the advanced level.

Pole equipment: My poles are ceiling-mounted and checked before every class. Controlled movements are emphasized at all levels, and mats are available for extra protection.

Even with precautions, injuries can happen, so please keep this in mind when booking.

  • Will I have to share a pole or aerial apparatus?

Yes! However, you’ll never share an apparatus with more than one other person. My studio has two poles, so classes are capped at four students. Aerial classes are semi-private with a single apparatus, so class sizes are capped at 2.

Think of sharing as a mini recovery session for your hands and arms. You’ll still get lots of time in the air, and supporting each other makes class even better.

  • Do you offer childcare?

The studio is not child-proofed, and childcare is not provided.

  • "But I'm too [old, fat, weak, stiff, uncoordinated, etc.] to do aerial/pole/yoga!

I’ve heard all the above excuses, and none of them are valid. It’s not easy being new at something, especially as an adult, but I promise you can do it! You may feel awkward at first, but everyone starts somewhere. Stick with it, show up consistently, and allow yourself to be new at something again. You will get stronger, more confident, and more capable over time.
